Ricochet Social is a bar, arcade, and event venue with cocktails, competitive games, and private event space in the heart of Kansas City. Originally from Des Moines, their newest location in Kansas City is inside Grand Place, the adaptive reuse redevelopment in the Crossroads Arts District. The 11,000-square-foot buildout transformed a piece of KC's industrial architectural history into a vibrant social bar and game lounge, blending exposed brick and original character with modern interior design, colorful lighting, and a mix of gathering spaces — from intimate lounges to large-format event rooms.

Our goal was to capture the interplay of the venue's signature colored lighting against the historic brick shell, and the layout and flow between the bar, lounge, and private event sections. Beyond the architecture, including lifestyle was key — people playing, gathering, and socializing — to show the atmosphere the design was built to support. The neon-and-color lighting does the work here turning the space into an energetic, photogenic destination, drawing people in off the street.
