OUTDOOR VINEYARD WEDDING
Frankie linked arms with both of her dads ready to head down to the vineyard wedding. Tears in all of their eyes as they made their way down the hill from her mom and step-dad’s house, past the vineyard, over the creek bridge, down the lane and toward Josh waiting at the pergola overlooking the pond amongst the trees. The rain had stopped just in time for the ceremony. The tent was up, the lights in the trees twinkled. Family from down the road and across the country were waiting with tears and tissues as she came down the aisle.
This bride (like many) hates being the center of attention, but also is the most boisterous, spunky, full of life person. So confident in herself, but self-professed to be “awkward” in front of the camera. She was so glad we took advantage of the Mini Boudoir Session included in her package just the week before so she could have some more time getting used to being photographed. Every second paid off — and also she’s just stunning — whether she thinks she’s awkward or not. :)
Sunlight glowed through the leaves in the treetops and the vineyard as we started portraits. We chased the most gorgeous light across the lawn and over to the ivy wall before joining the party under the tent and the stars. There is something so magical about portraits in a vineyard on your wedding day. You’ve just said “I Do” and get to snuggle in the glowing light amongst the vines. They’re so easy to play photo “peek-a-boo” and creating some amazing framing.
Like with many of my clients we bonded so much over her dogs!! I may have asked their names even before asking Josh’s eeeee. Their three adorable pups joined the 11 nieces and nephews in parading down the aisle right before Frankie. Reggie, Finn and Jack made the most adorable entrance guided by the little girls in their dresses and boys driving their motorized play cars all decked out in finery.
The Wedding Day Team
The team came together to capture Frankie & Josh’s outdoor vineyard wedding in October in Stilwell. I had my long-time friend and amazing wedding photographer, Melissa Slater as my second that day. The video team was Caleb and Drew of Suede Films – whom we’d also known for years and even shared a studio at one point. Despite knowing each other for so long, it was the first time we’d ever all worked together on the same wedding.
