The Guild KC – Kansas City Wedding Photographer

I love photographing weddings at The Guild KC. The atmosphere is always amazing. They have huge windows on the front to let in some amazing light for cocktail hour and gorgeous fixtures including that huge, amazing chandelier (you’ll see). The Guild also has a beautiful outdoor ceremony space tucked just behind the building. It’s a little garden oasis right in the middle of downtown. I’m a sucker for an outdoor wedding. There’s something so amazing about two people saying “I Do” in the fresh air, under the sun.

Lori and Chris met in an almost typical way, hanging out at the pub with friends, but the way the two of them are together is anything but typical. Chris has the most winning grin and he uses it freely to keep Lori laughing. I felt like Lori and I clicked right away. We both are a bit quiet and like to sit back and observe the world before we dive in. I’m so happy that these two found each other because they bring each bring out the best in the other.

How He Asked

Chris, a KCK police officer, proposed on the beach in Mexico while away for a for a friend’s wedding. He used a message in a bottle to get her attention and pop the question. On their wedding day, Lori handed Chris a message in a bottle at their first look in front of the Kaufman Performing Arts Center. Inside the bottle was a note with their special message to each other. It said, “You are my favorite.”
