A great local Kansas City branding resource is Mary-Catherine of BP Creative Group. She recently launched another whole side of her business and needed some killer Kansas City brand photos to reflect her personality. She wanted to use them in not only her website and regular marketing but social media presence as well. She’s the definition of a boss lady. A sassy Italian who is not afraid to make sure each piece of every element of your party or branding is in place. She’s your best friend because she’ll tell it like it is.
So many times people are ready to just schedule a shoot and “get it over with.” I agree with the make it happen part, but not before we know exactly what we’re aiming for. There are so many styles, so many clothing options, so many locations we could shoot. If we’re going to do it. We should do it right. We have a 10-15 min chat. That chat is so important to you loving your final images. Our initial chat always covers so many topics from brand colors, target audience, brand personality and all the ways she wanted to use the photos and so much more.
Mary and I decided to show the more fiery part of her personality and brand. We also wanted to create a few that were a bit more traditionally styled. These will give her options for the two different sides to her business. She’s also an amazing designer (graphic, party, branding….). I keep reminding her she’s really an Art Director. Whether she’s talking to a medical board about planning the branding and event design for their upcoming fundraiser party or really putting it all out there to help other business ladies start killing it, she needed a photo to go with each audience.
A one day shoot in two locations covered everything we’d need portrait-wise for the entire year of her marketing and social media. 10 outfits, an assistant, a hairstylist and some really killer local contacts at The Fontaine and The Intercontinental hotels on the plaza here in Kansas City.
