What an amazing day it was in Breckenridge for Jessica & Alex’s July wedding at the Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge. This day was one more example of the rainy weather in Colorado this year. We waited out some showers to start the ceremony. (Actually, they started just on time.) We also got luck and had just finished our portraits when it decided to go ahead and open up and rain for real!
Jessica & Alex are even busier than I and have done even more traveling between Penn State, London, Tuscon, Des Moines and Colorado, they managed to plan a wedding, study / finish and receive her doctorate, managed to buy a house, and find jobs in the same city! Whew! She even found the time to come up with some really amazing details including the gorgeous brooch bouquet complete with one of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, the postcard guestbook entries with words of advice, her beautiful birdcage veil, the special collar and leash for their flowergirl dog, Molly, and the awesome handmade, felt flowers she found on Etsy for bouquets, centerpieces and everything else floral. They had the caterer make special beignets for their dessert complete with ice cream in addition to the amazing chocolate cake with cute wooden figurines on top!
I’m so happy these two found and choose me to photograph their wedding. It was great fun getting to meet them and we even fit their little dog, Molly, into their mini engagement session (although, it was only because they were traveling with her and couldn’t avoid it!) Alex is originally from Britain and so there were so many people that loved them dearly who traveled to be at the wedding.
Sweet words from Jessica: AMAZING!!! Amazing amazing amazing. Those photos are stunning. I don’t know what I was expecting but whatever it was, you guys blew it out of the water. That last photo of us with my grandparents just sent me over the edge, too – the tears have started and Molly is looking at me like I’m nuts. Thanks for everything, Lindsay. Absolutely amazing.
Her poor mom had to actually sew her into her dress!
Awesome custom-made cufflinks to show their favorite places: London and State College.
Travel bunting! Made by the bride!
