Here is just a handfull for a sneak peak from Tina & Jake’s wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens – Chatfield. These two are so cute together. Tina hates being the center of attention, but Jake and I loosened her up at our mini engagement session. She loved the photos so much from it that she was much more comfortable in front of the camera for the wedding. The day started out pretty well, I left my house in complete sunshine. The sky turned dark and lighting was flashing in the distance as I neared Littleton…and unlike anything I’ve ever seen in Colorado, it poured all the rest of the day. We snuck the first look in right by the barn and then it rained, so every portrait we took was of them in the doorway and under the overhang. Tina decided that instead of transforming the barn to get married in the meadow despite the storms. People were soaked, but so happy for these two that they all sloshed out to watch them be wed. They returned to the barn for the reception soaked but delighted.
Tina and Jake chose to see each other before the ceremony for a first look. They wanted to be able to spend plenty of time partying with their guests instead of out taking photos all through the evening. As it turned out we went straight from the ceremony to the reception without doing family portraits because it was raining so hard. (We pulled families back outside for a few quick family shots when there was a break in the downpour.)
Tina brews beer. Yup, that’s right, she’s awesome. She brewed some to be served at the wedding with custom wedding themed labels and all.
The Band! Oh the band. Not only were they in tune (the first indicator of whether I’ll like a band or not), but they played an awesome set and got the place rocking.
Be sure to head on over to Facebook and tag yourself in the photos!
