I say it every time. Boho weddings are my favorite. Make them outdoors, even at the risk of midwestern Missouri heat, and I’m a happy girl. If we’re talking July, then, I grant you A/C is a must. But May? June? End of September through October. Outside is everything. Nothing compares to being surrounded by the beauty of nature and all that natural light on your wedding day. There’s something about having a big open sky and the sun on your shoulders that reminds you how small and yet how significant you are all at the same time.
Their outdoor, boho wedding story
Jordan and Johnny took great steps to ensure their wedding was truly their own. It became a reflection of their own style and personality. You can see that style come through in each and every item throughout the day.
With the ceremony scheduled just a bit before sunset, we took advantage of all our time in the afternoon to create a beautiful spot where they could first see each other at the altar. They had an adorable private moment together, just the two of them (and us camera crew in the shrubs, lol). Tears were shed and jagged breaths taken.
Under the dappled shade of the early fall trees they were able to share some time and they were able to snuggle and be present. They could enjoy the moment, the sun and the day before all of the bustle came. They could hold hands and take their time, knowing guests weren’t waiting on them to get back right away. I scouted a few spots earlier in the day and we took full advantage of a few little clearings in the woods behind The Bowery. They even humored me when I asked them to stand on a rock in the middle of a stream. The best photos always come when couples just humor me and my crazy requests. ;) It’s always for the light and the amazing photos it will get you.
So, scroll forth, relive the moments and emotions of the day as if you were there, celebrating with them.
PS. Jordan also did an amazing boudoir session as a gift to herself and her hubs for their wedding day. DO NOT miss it here.
I’m so glad my team and I could be there for you, to capture every happy moment. Some days just come together perfectly.
