I’m so happy to share this first sneak peek image from Eric & Joraine’s simple, laid-back Black Canyon Inn wedding in Estes Park, Colorado. They choose to have a small, intimate, destination wedding in Colorado, instead of a large party in Kansas City where they live.
It was so great to get to meet them in person in Kansas City (where we both live) and then shoot the actual wedding in Colorado! It’s really favorite destination wedding location. I also love the inn itself. I was married at Black Canyon Inn in 2008! (That seems like such a long time ago on paper!) Ok, maybe it was a while ago in reality too. :) Estes Park and the Inn will always hold a special place in my heart.
I toned this one photo – a portrait of the bride and groom – a bit differently than I normally do. It just screamed for the simplicity of black and white. I love the big pine tree that anchors and frames them in the image.
We had plenty of time for portraits between the wedding ceremony at Black Canyon Inn and the reception at Estes Park Resort at the Waterfront Grille. Since their little wedding only had 25 or so guests, it wasn’t too troublesome to just take some time with them and the beautiful scenery to really get them relaxed in front of the camera.
More amazing candid photos along with some wonderfully, beautiful portraits with mountain scenery coming soon.
