allison joy & mike’s lionscrest manor wedding – lyons, colorado wedding photographer

I love it when couples refer me to their friends. Joy and Mike were a fabulous referral from Erica & Chris. Erica went to art school with Joy and was even a bridesmaid in Joy’s wedding.

Mike and Joy REALLY wanted an outdoor wedding surrounded by the beautiful Colorado scenery. They found the perfect place for them inLionscrest Manor. When it started raining before the ceremony was supposed to start, everyone was a bit worried. We checked and rechecked our radar apps and crossed our fingers. Joy’s choice was even to delay the ceremony a bit just to make sure that they could be married outside. When the clouds parted and the skies cleared, the women cheered.

Joy put together so many amazing details, even creating the custom bunting herself. Congratulations you two! We were so happy to get to be there for you! Thanks so much to my second shooter Jonathan for helping out too!

I love Joy’s amazing, vintage wedding ring from Erstwhile Jewelry in Brooklyn. The wedding ring completely matches her unique style and flair.

Joy’s wedding dress from Amanda’s Bridal in Arvada has so much amazing lace and beading. I love the vintage feel of the gown.

Of course Joy also had these amazing purple wedding shoes by Vince Camuto, her favorite designer.

Kimball Floral from Denver also did an amazing job on all of the wedding flowers. I love the peonies, dahlias, ranunculus and more in her bouquet! The mix of deep reds, purples and pinks is really beautiful and I love the textures!

The moment the sun came out!

Joy sees her dad for the first time in her wedding dress.

I love the vintage look of the birdcage veil. It really is all about the veil, whether it is super long or the short birdcage. Veils make the bride.

Favors were handmade cookies by the groom’s aunt.

Joy made custom ribbon wands to be used at the end of the ceremony as they went back down the aisle instead of rose petals and during their grand exit at the end of the night.

They’re off to St. Thomas!
