I am so pleased that Marek and Marta choose me to cover their wedding. They are such a wonderful couple. Definitely in love with each other, but also in love with the rest of their family. It was one of my first experiences with a Polish wedding. The church was ornate with beautifully painted ceilings and walls. The Polish traditions created beautiful moments as old family traditions always do. Although English was only used for about 5% of what was said, it is amazing how much I understood just by context, facial expressions, tone and hand gestures. Marek’s brother is an avid photographer but also played best man on the big day. He made an excellent reflector stand when it came time to take photos of the couple. A great band called Euroband played everything from Polish traditional songs to ABBA’s Dancing Queen and a little old Polish uncle walked me to my car when the night was over. An altogether amazing time.
