Taylor and Michael’s 28 Event Space wedding was so lovely despite the constant threat of rain. Worries of rain loomed over us all day. In the days leading up to the wedding we considered photos at Union Station. We called around and made backup plans. Thankfully, we didn’t have to use them! The rain held off just until the very end of the family portraits. Just as we finished them up a couple of tiny raindrops fell and as we ran inside the skies opened. Whew! Nothing like cutting it close.
Taylor absolutely loves photos. During the chaos of getting ready, her ‘maids started discussing her love of photos. I’m so glad I could be there for her to help capture it all. I did get a little obsessed with the beautiful lace cap sleeves on Taylor’s dress from Gown Gallery, but I think she was too! ;) Michael was stunned during their first look. Taylor asked if the dress was worth it. (I guess she went a little over budget there! ;) He agreed with a wowed nod. Absolutely worth it.
This sweet couple is so great together. I love that Michael is sweet and sensitive, and that she compliments him by knowing exactly what she wants and going after it. I love that they spent the reception dancing the night away with their friends AND each other!
I’m so happy we were able to get in all of the locations Taylor wanted on her wedding day. Happily, we were able to do the first look at the venue. They have some amazing lights strung from the ceiling and big beautiful windows that let in plenty of light. The combination makes for wonderful photos. Then, we hopped on the event’s space’s shuttle to take bridal party photos at Memorial Hill. The trees were flowering along the hill and we caught a few beautiful photos on the way back to the shuttle to head to our next stop. Finally, we hit up the West Bottoms (where we ran into about five other bridal parties!). We finished out the evening with a sweet ceremony, some wonderful toasts and a the very touching first dances.
Not even the sparkler exit could be dampened by the rain. Taylor and Michael ran out the covered loading dock to the golden glow of sparklers and jumped right in their limo to head off to their honeymoon.
